Weekend #3 (Trip to LA)

Last weekend, JD and I headed down to LA for Grandma Miller’s funeral. Grammy and Gramps picked JD up on Friday earlier in the day and drove down to LA, while I took a late night flight to meet them. Saturday morning we attended Grandma Miller’s funeral, and it was interesting to learn more about her and how determined she was, and accomplished whatever she set her mind to. I had no idea how big Gerry’s side of the family was, and was amazed to see how many people in her family had attended her funeral.

After the funeral, we headed over to Justin’s uncle’s house for a family lunch/get-together. JD was able to meet more of his cousins, and had fun playing with all the kiddos there. Whenever Dean and JD are together, they love to play super heroes and push each other down, or JD at least likes to try and take his bigger cousin down. I love that JD and Dean get along so well, and how excited JD gets to see all of his cousins in general.

After the get together, we headed over to a huge pumpkin patch that was nearby. They had a lot to do there: farm animals, pony rides, small tractors that kids could drive, a huge tractor that was converted into a slide, a tractor ride, bounce houses, a train ride for the kids, pumpkins, and a whole bunch more that I know I’m missing out. JD loved almost every minute of it.
When we got to the pumpkins, JD did what he did at the last pumpkin patch we were at… He’d try and pick up a pumpkin and move it over to the next batch. When he couldn’t pick up a pumpkin, he rolled them over. Here are a ton of pictures from the pumpkin patch:

It was a super quick and exhausting trip, but I’m glad we were able to make it to the funeral and see family
