Who would've thought that we would be so happy and so blessed to be living in Modesto? After almost a month of living here, we definitely feel like this is where we need to be. A week after moving into our apartment, I received a phone call from a temp agency saying they had an assignment for me that would last 2 weeks. I would be working with CBS-Outdoor (they are associated with CBS the network) but they deal with the billboards you see all along the freeway and what not. I'm basically doing receptionist work, but am enjoying my time there, and have been asked to extend my assignment for another 2 weeks. It's been a huge blessing, and we are so grateful that I have at least some sort of employment for the time being.
Justin is working hard, as per usual, and is beginning to realize that the season is fast approaching. He is not only managing work full time, but he is also finishing up his (hopefully) last semester of college!!! Woo hoo! We are all really excited for him! His expected graduation date is now April 2013, so only 3 more months!
JD has been adjusting fairly well to the move, except he has been sick off and on for the past few weeks, so I of course have been a little worried about him. He has been going to a new day care, and is getting use to the routine. The best part about the new day care is that they feed him meals, so we don't need to pack a lunch for him anymore. They're also very affordable, and really nice people. We've been pretty happy so far!
Our new ward (LDS church) is awesome! Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming. It's definitely our best ward yet. We've already given our "new couple" talks, and received callings in the ward. Justin has been assigned to Gospel Essentials: the Sunday School for new members and investigators, and I've been assigned to work with the Young Women as a Mia Maid adviser (teacher). I've always wanted to serve in the Young Women, so I'm pretty darn excited... probably more excited than I should be.
We are loving our 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment! Our place is almost completely unpacked, and we are excited that we have a couple in the ward who lives in our complex! The wife is also in the Young Women, so that might be handy! We are very excited, happy, and blessed to be where we are. Hopefully pictures of our unpacked apartment will be coming soon.
