While I was at work one weekend, Justin went to get a hair cut and took JD with him. After his hair cut, Justin noticed a pet adoption going on in the lot over and thought it would be fun for JD to see the dogs. There, Justin fell in love with a dog and wanted me to see her. She was a very cute dog, non the less, but the adoption lady told us that she was only a puppy and since we were both working full time then, it wouldn't be the best fit. She pointed us to another dog named Aphrodite. She explained that she would be the perfect fit for us, and that she was a very sweet dog and great with kids. Justin, of course was all goo-goo eyed for her, and somehow convinced me that we should get her because it made JD happy.... and she was cute.
The story with her name goes like this: Her name was originally Missy when the first adoption center found her as a stray. The place we adopted her from (East Bay Animal Rescue and Refuge) then named her Aphrodite. We didn't really like that name, and changed it back to Missy. She is a Chihuahua... although we were told she was a mix of stuff, she definitely looks like a Chihuahua.
She is a very sweet dog and we love her. She gets along great with JD, and hasn't snapped at him... yet. :)
In other news, which is actually pretty important.... Justin received a second offer with the Modesto Nuts (the minor league baseball team which he interned with this past summer). They offered more to make us think about it some more, and we have decided, after lots of prayer, that we are going to take their offer and become "NUTS" again. This time, we will be moving down to Modesto. We probably won't make the move until I've found a job down there, so here's to wishing and hoping that everything will turn out just fine. Wish us luck in our new endeavor!
