Well, the beginnings of the Fall Semester has begun, and so far everything has been going well. Justin seems to be happy with his classes so far. His biggest concern at first was his Creating Online Media class, since he was worried that his expectations of the class would not be met. (Creating Online Media has to do with html and css-web building). So far, it is exactly what he expected, which is a good thing. Justin is taking 16 credits, which includes his internship with KSL.com. He covers the Utah Aggies (if you didn't read in my last post), and so far he has been to one home game. He even has his own seat in the Utah State's press box, which comes with free food.
So far he's been enjoying his internship. If you want to see his work, follow this link and look for articles written by him.
Once again, I'm taking a full load, and I'm getting a little more worried, as JD is beginning to sleep less and less. He is now at 2 naps a day for about an hour and a half. The class that worries me most is my intro to graphic design. Apparently, it's one of those classes that "weeds" people out, so the ones that are actually serious (or can actually do graphic design) end up staying. I'm nervous because I didn't realize how much art was going to go into it (silly me). We'll see if I last in that class.... On the other hand, I am taking a digital imaging class which has to do with photography and editing, and I'm really excited about it. I'm hoping I'll get to learn my DSLR camera better, and get better with my photo skills.
I've also managed to get a new job at a sandwich place called Jimmy John's. The hotel I'm working for is currently owned by the bank, and it's only a matter of time before someone buys it, and turns it into student housing, because I know that the hotel will not last much longer. So, I'm relieved to have found a new job before they start laying off people. I start training on Thursday.
On a random note: JD and I took a walk through the gardens here on campus to take pictures for my graphic design class, and we stumbled across an apple orchard. So, I took advantage of the opportunity and got some pictures of him. This might be my new favorite place to take pictures.

Back to Work...
Well, after 6 weeks of nothing but looking after our son and working on homework, I am back to work. Fortunately, it's not a demanding job, and there was no one to check out today. It was nice, since I was able to focus on my homework, and now I get to worry about nothing but the baby. Even though i find it somewhat of an escape, I've missed him all day. I would much rather be with him than come to work. But, I'm grateful I still have a job.

Wild Weekend
It has been a tiring, but happy weekend. One of Justin's good friends, Matt Harris, got married yesterday, and we traveled to Lyman, Wyoming, and Manti, Utah in order to celebrate the happy occasion. Let's start early Friday morning.
I woke up a little after 6am in order to make an interview here in Rexburg, at 7:30am (being a girl and all, I needed to give myself some extra time to get ready). The interview was with a hotel called the Magnuson Hotel. I was amazed that I was able to pull off a descent interview that early in the morning. After wards, I went home to pick up Justin, and began our journey off to Lyman.
It was one of the longest rides of my life, and because we caravaned with Matt's family, there was no stopping at all. It was a rough ride not only because I'm pregnant (Matt's family driving straight through did not leave any room for any bathroom breaks), but because there was a point in our trip that involved absolutely nothing along the freeway for an hour and a half straight. No shops, no gas stations, no rest stops. We did however, in the middle of that hour and a half, pass through a town called Carter in which we had to slow down to 35 mph for railroad tracks, and 3 houses that surrounded it. We assumed the people that lived there were "The Carters," and they were all cousins.

Seriously, this is what it looked like for a very, VERY, long time
After our long drive we finally arrived, met Matt's soon-to-be wife, set up for the reception that night, had a BBQ at the bride's house, and then the reception. Since everything closed at 9pm and there really was no where to celebrate, the only form of a bachelor party the boys could throw was playing basketball in the church gym, and having a delicious meal from Taco Time.
The next day involved more driving. We first stopped at Provo to pick up Justin's buddies, Alex Leal and Matt Hopkins, and headed down to Manti for the sealing. These three boys together are hilarious. It made the trip down and back from Manti more interesting.
The Manti temple is a beautiful Temple, inside and out. The sealing was amazing, and you could really feel the spirit in there. It reminded me a lot of our sealing, and a few weeks after our 1 year anniversary, it seemed like the perfect time to be able to witness another couple's sealing. Just remembering the pure happiness of that day, and knowing that you're going to be with your companion for eternity is such a comforting feeling. The couple looked happy, and we were so happy for them!

After the pictures, and the delicious luncheon (Cordon bleu & Rasberry cheesecake! How could you go wrong?) we dropped Matt and Alex off in Provo, went back to Rexburg, and arrived home at midnight. It was a long trip, and an exhausting one, but we figured we couldn't really complain since Matt Harris came and DJ'd at our wedding after he had a wedding the day before in Nevada, and drove through the middle of the night in order to make our sealing, and celebrate the rest of our day with us. We were more than happy to celebrate his special day.
And as for that job interview (whether or not you forgot, and were anxious to hear the results), I received a call yesterday from the guy who interviewed me, and... I GOT THE JOB!!!! Finally! after 3 weeks of filling out applications, and 4 interviews, I now have a job. I was actually offered a job at Macy's down in Idaho Falls (30 minutes away), but it required me to work Sundays, and it didn't seem worth it to drive all the way down, and make only $8/hr. Although I am only making minimum wage, I at least go to work that's 5 minutes away, and because it is a hotel business, I do have to work at least 1 Sunday a month. I'm so excited about it, since this could potentially be toward my career of doing event planning/coordinating since a lot of Hotels are hosts to different types of events.
I start work tomorrow, and will be training at two locations that are seconds apart from each other, The Magnuson Hotel, and Days Inn. Wish me luck!

Promotion without the raise
Well, I'm finally moving out of the food business and into something new! Yesterday, while working at the Safeway deli, I was paged over the intercom to come upstairs and meet with the managers. Scared that I was about to be told I was getting fired, I slowly and reluctantly went upstairs to see what was wrong. First, they introduced me to someone and I thought that was it. They all knew I was nervous, and finally after a few minutes of waiting, they asked me if I would be interested in working at the Customer Service booth? I said yes!! I hate the deli, and now I finally am moving out. It's too bad they asked me before I was leaving... But I'm really excited to:
#1. Move out of the food business
#2. Gain more experience and skills other than food service.
I'll be doing book keeping, refunds, probably selling cigarettes and lottery tickets (thrilling...), and all the other customer service stuff I'll learn about. I start in 2 weeks! The best part about this whole thing is, I didn't even apply for the position! They just thought of me and thought I'd be good for the job. :)
What's going on with Justin you ask? He's done with school for the summer. That's all!
