JD Turns 2

My little baby is now officially a toddler! JD is growing up so fast, I can't believe it! There are times where I just watch him and it amazes me how big he really is. I love this kid to pieces, and I am so grateful I get to be his mom!

On JD's official birthday, we didn't really do anything exciting. I made cupcakes to take to daycare so that they could have a little celebration for him there. The day after his birthday was a Friday, so we decided to do something then. We headed over to Chevys so they could sing to JD and give him a hat (we didn't keep it since we knew it would just be in the way). But, we wanted to make his birthday dinner fun, and that was the place to be!

This past weekend, we went up to the Bay Area and celebrated his birthday with our families. He was spoiled and is loving all of his new toys (and clothes). It was a "Train" theme since he is into trains right now, and he loved it, especially the big Thomas the Train balloon Grammy and Gramps got him.

JD is starting to say a lot more words now, and I'm hoping he'll start putting words together and start talking more. He can say train, shoe, Missy (our dog), ball, baseball, please, pop (for pop tart), mush (oatmeal), keys, car, choo choo, zoom, and a few others I'm probably leaving out. Of course, not all of those words are perfect, but we understand it. JD is also starting to count (sort of). As long as your counting, he'll start chiming in and will sometimes tell you the number that comes next! He loves everything sports, just like his dad! He especially loves soccer and baseball right now. And more than anything he loves to play with cars and trains.

JD is pretty good at listening to us, and likes being helpful. When we were moving into our apartment, he insisted that he help bring stuff to and from the car. His day care also mentioned how well behaved he is and wished that they could somehow clone him so that the kids there could be more like him. :)

I'm grateful to be a mom, and I'm grateful that Heavenly Father has given me the chance to care for this cute sweet boy! I'm looking forward to seeing his accomplishments that lay ahead in the future. Happy birthday JD! We love you!

  1. I was just thinking that I needed JD "fix" as I am missing him. It was a fun party and he IS such a sweet kid. Loved watching him play football with the big boys at the park.
