We Have Jobs... For Now

Remember a couple posts ago, I mentioned that Justin had to turn down a job with his previous internship with the Modesto Nuts? Well, it was a good thing he did because he got an internship with a PR firm in San Francisco. The place he will be interning at is called Nectar Communications, and he doesn't really know exactly what he'll be doing, but for now he'll be doing a lot of research for the company. If it wasn't for his good friend, Matt who just started working for them about a month ago, he wouldn't have gotten the job. We are very grateful for this opportunity! He starts tomorrow, Monday, and I can't wait to hear all about it.

Just this last week, I started temping for a company called Bright Source Energy as a receptionist. I have no idea how long I will be there, as the person I am "subbing" for has left due to a medical emergency in her family. There is a possible chance I could have a job there if she decides not to return. Everything is up in the air, which is kind of frustrating, but I'm just grateful to have a job at the moment that pays more than minimum wage. Since this is just a temporary position, I still have my job at Oakwood Athletic Club. I work there Tuesdays and Thursdays in the evening, and work on Saturday whenever they need me. My days on Tuesdays and Thursdays are long and tiring. I go to work at 8 am, get off at 4:30pm and head straight to Oakwood and get off after 11pm.

The part that kills me in all this is I don't get to see JD at all during the day. I now have a small idea of what Justin went through during the summer with his time with the Modesto Nuts.

JD is going to be going to a day care while we are off at work. Thank goodness we found out about this place through the McKissick's family friend who really likes the teacher/child care provider. It will be very affordable for us, and it seems like a very structured place. We are excited for him since he'll have an opportunity to make some friends and will be prepped for pre-school/kindergarten. There are 4-5 other kids that go during the week, and there is only one other child who will be going 5 days a week, just like JD.

It will be weird to not be with JD all day, since I've been able to watch him until now. It's a big change for all of us, but a huge blessing nonetheless!
