JD is slowly starting to walk!!! And when I say slowly, I mean very slowly. He is getting very good at standing on his own for a few seconds, however, he'll only do it once or twice in a row before he starts to get frustrated. Today, he took a few steps towards me all on his own, with no assistance from me or his walker. Like the standing thing, he only does this once or twice a day... But we're getting there!
He loves getting into everything, and he is getting so fast at getting to wherever he needs and wants to go. His favorite place to go to in the entire house is... the bathroom... He is, for some weird reason, attracted to the toilet. Ever since he learned how to flush it, he tries with all his might to get to it. Even when we're downstairs, he will make his way up the stairs with determination to get to that darn toilet. It drives me nuts! Luckily, he doesn't do this all the time. It's just a few times a day.
I finally found an internship for the summer, and I'm so excited! I'll be working at The Ruth Bancroft Garden in Walnut Creek, CA and doing Event Planning/Marketing. I'll be working 16 hours a week, which gives me the amount of time I need to fulfill my internship credits for school, and it gives me time to spend with JD and hopefully my nieces! I'm so excited to be going home for the summer! And hopefully we'll stay in California for a long time after this semester! (Still waiting to see if I got those classes approved...)
Justin is doing great. He is loving his internship and is looking forward to the season starting. Right now, he is still working with local elementary schools and awarding free tickets to children who complete the reading program that has been implemented in the school system. He has also made a few appearances as Wally the Walnut. Justin will deny this is him, but believe me when I say, this really is him!
meg don't let that kid stand up in the cart like that! i know from experience.... i remember a really long time ago i was standing in a cart at costco leaning against the edge pointing at clothes and then of course i fell on my head again.... it hurt bad.
