Surviving the "Split"

We have been doing well... as much as we can be at least. Not having Justin around is a little weird, especially at night. During the day, it just feels like Justin has gone to school or work. It really got to me the first few nights that Justin really wasn't around anymore. I've slowly gotten use to the idea, not that I like it at all, but I'm somehow able to manage it all. I didn't think I would be able to at first.

Justin started his first week with the Modesto Nuts last Monday. So far, he's enjoyed it, except for the long drives from Concord to Modesto and back. He has been going to a few schools to talk about bullying, coming up with "themed" nights like Star Wars, Yo Gaba Gaba, and a few others, and ways to bring in more sales. (Hopefully I got that all right). He tells me a lot of stuff, so it's hard to keep them all straight.

Thanks to this semester's workload being light, I manage to get my homework done during JD's naps and I am usually able to have the night to myself. Last week, I was able to make JD a new blanket. Since it's so cold over here, I wanted to make JD a warmer blanket, and I when I found some fabric that I liked, I couldn't resist the opportunity.

JD has this thing where he likes to sleep on top of his blankets rather than underneath them....

I also found out that I might be graduating next semester!!! I talked to an adviser the other day and they managed to use classes that I had taken in the past that weren't being used and put them to use in my clusters (it's like a minor). I'm just waiting for the changes to be approved and then, all I'll have to do to after this semester is take an online class and do an internship and I will be done! Woo hoo!

JD has been good since his dad left, for the most part. The thing that keeps him and I sane is this kids TV show called "Yo Gaba Gaba!" It is JD's cousin's, Dean, favorite show, and I saw it on Netflix one day and decided to give it a try. JD seemed to enjoy it. I've even seen him smile once or twice while watching the show. Whenever I need a moment to get stuff done, I'll put it on, and it holds his attention pretty well.

I haven't taken many pictures of JD with my camera, since I've been taken a lot on my phone in order to send them as quickly as I can to Justin. So I'll share with you the many faces and videos of JD!
