Christmas Time Is Here!!!

I love Christmas! I love the anticipation of the day, and all the decorations. It always makes me sad when it's passed and you have to wait another long year for it to come around again. But, it's not a special holiday if it's around all year right?

Anyways... we got our Christmas tree last week. After 2 days of searching for real Christmas trees and realizing that the only way of getting a real tree (that we really like) would be to chop it down ourselves. We didn't really want to do that this year, since we weren't really prepared for that, and I would be of no help whatsoever, so we had to settle. We ended up buying a fake tree at Target for $20, and the display looked pretty legit! Even the picture on the box made it look pretty sweet. Here, take a look:

And the tree that came in the box looked like this:

Does that look anything close to what it the box says it's suppose to look like? Didn't think so. I never believe pictures, especially since they can photoshop things to make them look better then they really are. But the display in the store (which by the way had no decorations on it to make it look better) had me convinced it was a fine looking tree. They must've grabbed some branches from our tree to make it look fuller. :(

However, after all the decorations we put on the tree, I must say it looks pretty good.

(more Christmas decorations)

We still have yet to get a star on top, as you may have noticed, but I've seen some promise this year. We just haven't had the chance to purchase one yet. Hopefully this year we'll get one.

Yesterday, we had a little Christmas party with a few friends that we know. Since work gave me a free 14 lb turkey for Thanksgiving, and we never used it, we decided we wanted to share it with friends. There was no way Justin and I could devour it ourselves. This was our first time cooking a Turkey, and it was not a pleasant experience. Neither of us wanted to touch the thing... or the insides. And we didn't defrost it until the afternoon before... so it was still pretty frozen by the time we stuck it in the oven... It took about 4 1/2 hours to cook, rather than 3 1/2. However, when it was ready, it looked pretty good. I wish i had a picture of it before we carved it.

This was actually Justin's first time carving a Turkey as well, and he didn't do too bad of a job! The turkey turned out tasty, and wasn't dry! We were proud of ourselves.

The party was a lot of fun, and we had just the right amount of chairs for our friends who showed up! We did a white elephant as well, and it was pretty hillarious. The boys got the more hilarious gifts. This is what Justin got:

At first glance, what do you think it's for?... Did you think bib?! Because that's exactly what we thought!
HAHAHAH!!! It is in fact not a bib, but a dish towel that hangs over the oven's handle of course! But it could still be used as a bib! Good work Nichole! :) Your gift can be used for two things!

Devin got the gift Justin picked out... Very fashionable!

And Jacob got this lovely hat. Put them all together and this is what you get:

A good looking set of men!

And just because it's getting closer and closer to the big day, here I am very tired after the party and clean up at 31 weeks!
 Ta da!
