Justin is doing fine, he is definitely excited about coming home. I asked him what he wanted for Christmas, and he finally answered back saying that he is thinking about a rifle... Although, the more he thinks about what he wants for Christmas, the more homesick he gets.
A couple weeks ago, Justin got fitted for his graduation uniform and was pretty excited about that. That same day, he had to sit and help soldiers with their paperwork, and had other guys come up to him in their "whitie tighties" to get fitted for pants.... That was a very unexciting 3 hours for him.
So far, Justin's weight hasn't gone down that much, but apparently he is looking slimmer and has been building muscle. I can definitely tell that he has slimmed down in the pictures they took of him recently. Justin said that he is getting better at running, as well as his push ups and sit ups. He always sounds like he is doing well in his letters, and is always excited to tell me when he's been shooting guns. He has days where they are harder than others, but he is still enjoying everything he's learning.
Here's a picture of Justin from one of the first couple of weeks he was there:
These pictures are from Monday (11/4/13):
If you couldn't tell, Justin is in the bottom right corner of this picture... notice the difference in weight yet?
By the way, on Halloween, they got to have Tootsie rolls for lunch, and Skittles for dinner!
