Danny at 7 Months

It's already been a month since Danny turned 7 months, and I haven't posted anything about him. Here are some recaps from the time he turned 7 months. At 8 months I'll post the most recent happenings.

Sitting up for longer periods of time.
Army crawling
Moved in with JD

I love that JD and Danny are in the same room now. JD is such a sweet brother. At night, when they go to bed, we can hear JD through the baby monitor calming Danny down at night and trying to make him laugh in the morning. I love the brotherly love they have and know that this probably won't last their entire lives, but hope that it happens more often than the fights they'll eventually have.

JD Starts Preschool

"When I grow up I want to be Coco Crisp" - JD McKissick

I realize that it is still summer and JD is starting preschool! Weird, right? JD has been on a waiting list for preschool the last 4 months, and when we were finally offered a spot, the latest we could start was today otherwise we'd be pushed back to the end of the line again. I did not want to wait any longer so we said yes, and JD loved his first day! I had no problems dropping him off and he was super excited to go! When I went to pick him up they were sitting on the floor singing a song and JD loved it. When I asked him what he did that day he told me he got to play outside and that was about all. I know they do more in there, and I didn't get a chance to ask the teachers with all the parents picking up their kids, but I'll find out next time! When I asked him if he wanted to go back, he said no... but that's typical of JD with a lot of things. He always says he doesn't want to do something, but he ends up going back and loving it (like swimming and KinderJam). I can't believe JD is already starting preschool... only 2 more years until he starts Kindergarten.

It was definitely weird not having JD around for 3 hours, but that means more bonding time for Danny and I! I wasn't sure if I liked having JD gone... but I'm sure the more he goes the more I will appreciate those days he's not at home. My kids need to stop growing up...

Danny at 6 Months

Danny has grown so much in the past 6 months, it still amazes me how fast time flies when they're just babies! He is bigger than JD was in height and weight by this point. JD was 15 lbs 3 oz - 5%
and 26 inches - 18%. Yesterday, we found out that Danny is:

17 lbs 9 oz - 91%
28.25 in - 38%
Their heads are about the same percentile

Danny is:
Rolling everywhere
Can turn around in a full circle
Scoots backwards
Attempts to get into crawling position
Sits up for a second or two (JD was ahead of him at that)
Loves to eat food
Favorite foods are - apples, bananas, pears, sweet potatoes

Danny by far is a much better eater than JD was. He will usually finish a 3.5 oz jar of baby food with no problems (as long as it's something he likes). Today he tried green beans and wasn't a big fan. We'll try again another day.

Danny at 5 Months

Not too many things happening this month, but there were a couple of exciting things that were new for Danny.

Rolling from his tummy to his back
Started trying rice cereal (hadn't gotten it quite yet)
Waking up twice a night, but sleeping for longer periods

JD Starts His Baseball Career

Today was JD's first T-Ball game and he absolutely loved it! JD's practices and games are conveniently located right in front of our house and are run really well. As you see in the pictures below, he is on the A's team, and both Justin and JD were both pretty thrilled about that. The game started and JD did great... Towards the end of the game, he started to kind of loose it and would tackle other kids when they got the ball. He was in the zone throughout the game and didn't want the game to end. He did awesome for his first game and had a lot of fun! I will let the pictures do the talking...

Scolding JD for tackling other kids...

Danny is 4 Months

I am "on time" with this post... only a day after he turned 4 months. This kiddo is still awesome! Here is what he is up to now:

Loves to smile
Ticklish
Laughes
Plays with toys
Can lay on his play mat for 30+ min.
Super drooly (we think he's getting teeth)
Can eat up to 4 oz (stats my mom likes to hear)
Very laid back baby

People will ask me if Danny can sit in his car seat for a long period of time and be happy, and he usually is, as long as he is able to look at somebody. He can be happy almost anywhere for long periods of time as long as it's not close to feeding or nap time (just like many of us). We are so in love with this baby!

Danny is 3 Months

Well, he turned 3 months almost a month ago, and will be 4 months next week! Yikes, I'm slacking with updates on this kiddo. But for my sake when I look back on this, Danny at 3 months was doing this:

Beginning to coo
Starting to smile more
Very early stages of laughing
Still an awesome sleeper
An easing going baby

We thought JD was easy, but I cannot believe how much easier Danny has been so far. He doesn't cry nearly as much as JD did (not that JD cried very often), and will stay in his swing for long periods of time. Love this kiddo!
