Blessed and a Little Luck

When I mentioned that Justin and I were going back to BYU-Idaho again in the fall in my last blog, I forgot to add that we did not know whether or not Justin had been accepted back into BYU-Idaho (because he withdrew last year). Fortunately, we don’t have to worry about that anymore! Justin has been accepted back into BYU-Idaho, and the move is on for sure. What track he’ll be on right now is still a mystery, but knowing that he’s back in is good enough for me.

I’ve already started taking online classes at BYU-Idaho in order to keep my student status. The classes I’m taking are a few easy 1-credit classes that will last for the first part of the semester and a Spanish class. I figure Justin will be able to assist me with my Spanish since he is still speaks the language fluently thanks in part to working at a Mexican airline.

Speaking of Justin’s job, his hours have been cut drastically and have caused him to find another job. Thankfully, sent his resume in last Sunday to an athletic club in Lafayette, was asked to come in for an interview, and was offered the job yesterday. His job entails cleaning the men’s locker room, not the prettiest or most wanted job in the world, but it’s a better work situation than the one he has now. We have truly been blessed, and I can’t thank the Lord enough for his help in the many trials we face.

So today, we attended another A’s game and sat in the perfect row (thanks to Jeff and Tammy). As we were sitting in the hot sun, a vendor selling snowing cones walked by, dropped one and said, “I’m leaving that there,” and walked off. We all kind of looked at each other for a moment, and encouraged Justin to go and get it. The snow cone was perfectly edible—the only thing missed was a spoon... the best part, the vendor gave it to him!

Whether or not it was a blessing, or just pure luck—it was AWESOME!!! And Justin's got the snow cone to prove it!

Sophie kept giving the snow cone this look--the look of a scavenger.

And this point indicated that she wanted some of the snow cone.

It's been a good week. :)
